Rewind Trauma Therapy

Rewind Trauma Therapy is a gentle, safe, and highly effective approach designed to help people process and reduce the impact of traumatic memories. Unlike traditional talk therapies, Rewind does not require you to go into detail about the event or repeatedly relive distressing experiences.

Instead, it works by helping the brain reprocess traumatic memories, so they no longer trigger the same intense emotional or physical reactions.

Often referred to as a “closure without disclosure” technique, the Rewind Method allows healing to take place without the need to share private or painful details if you don’t want to.

Who Can Benefit?

Rewind Trauma Therapy can help anyone who has experienced trauma, whether recent or in the past. It is especially effective for those living with:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Anxiety and panic related to past events

  • Flashbacks and nightmares

  • Phobias or intense fears

  • Trauma linked to accidents, abuse, loss, or medical procedures

It can be used with adults and young people and often provides relief where other approaches may have felt overwhelming or ineffective.

painful details if you don’t want to.

Is It Right for You?

Rewind Trauma Therapy may be right for you if:

  • You have unwanted memories, flashbacks, or nightmares.

  • You feel “stuck” in the past despite trying other forms of therapy.

  • You want a gentle, respectful approach that doesn’t require repeatedly talking through the trauma.

  • You’re looking for lasting change in a relatively short period of time.

Because it is non-intrusive and client-led, many people who feel unable to face traditional exposure-based therapies find Rewind to be a more comfortable and empowering option.

How It Works

During a session, you are guided into a calm and relaxed state, similar to daydreaming. From there, you are supported to “rewind” and reprocess the traumatic memory in a way that separates it from the strong emotional and physical responses it once carried. The memory is not erased—you will still remember what happened—but it will no longer feel overwhelming or trigger the same distress.

Often just a few sessions are needed to see significant improvements. This therapy can also be used as part of longer-term therapy with myself and done during sessions.

How Effective Is Rewind Trauma Therapy?

Research and clinical practice show that Rewind Trauma Therapy can be highly effective in significantly reducing, and often removing, symptoms of trauma and PTSD. Many people notice improvements within one to three sessions.

Because it is safe, non-invasive, and does not require detailed disclosure, it is increasingly used by therapists, charities, and health professionals worldwide as a preferred method for trauma recovery.

If you’re ready to find freedom from trauma and reclaim your peace of mind, Rewind Trauma Therapy may be the right choice for you.

Single Session Therapy (SST) is a focused, solution-oriented approach designed to help you achieve meaningful change in just one session. Unlike traditional therapy, which can take weeks or months, SST focuses on the issue that matters most to you and provides practical strategies and insights that can be applied immediately.

It’s not about rushing the process, it’s about making the most of your time, resources, and personal strengths to create clarity and momentum.

Single Session Therapy

Who Can Benefit?

Single Session Therapy can help anyone who wants targeted support for a specific challenge, including those experiencing:

  • Stress or anxiety

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Life transitions, uncertainty and decision making.

  • Confidence or self-esteem challenges

  • Work-related pressures or decision-making dilemmas

It’s particularly useful for people who want fast, actionable results, or who prefer short-term, goal-focused support.

Is It Right For You?

SST may be right for you if:

  • You want to address one key issue without committing to long-term therapy.

  • You’re seeking practical solutions, clarity, or guidance.

  • You feel ready to take action but need professional support to get started.

  • You have a busy schedule and need an efficient, effective approach.

It’s a flexible option that meets you where you are, whether you’re looking for a single session or a first step toward longer-term therapy.

How It Works

The focus is on you and your goals. Sessions typically include:

  1. Clarifying your focus – identifying the key issue you want to resolve or explore.

  2. Exploring solutions – uncovering your own strengths and options, guided by myself.

  3. Creating an action plan – leaving with practical steps and strategies to move forward confidently.

Even a single session can provide insights and tools that help you make meaningful progress.

How Effective Is Single Session Therapy?

Research and clinical experience show that many people notice significant relief, clarity, or progress after just one session. Some find that one session is all they need, while others may choose to continue therapy to explore additional areas.

SST is designed to be empowering, efficient, and impactful, offering a powerful alternative for those who want results without a lengthy commitment.

Take the next step:

Sometimes one conversation is all it takes to gain clarity, confidence, and control over your life.

Single Session Therapy can help you move forward today.

Is your teen struggling to deal with their ever-changing intense emotions but are not ready for counselling?

Emotion coaching offers an effective alternative.

Emotion Coaching For Teenagers

Counselling focuses more on emotional healing, whereas coaching is more directive, which young people can prefer. Helpful for many issues such as anxiety, perfectionism, exam stress, friendship issues or anger.

Young people learn a lot about physical education at school and how to look after their bodies, but the mind is often ignored.

Based on the research by American Psychologist John Gottman, emotion coaching helps young people to recognise, understand and learn to stabilise their emotions, enabling them to become more resilient.

If your teen is struggling - I can help.

Frequently Asked Questions

17.png
Is Counselling Right For Me?

I believe counselling is for everyone, at some point in our lives we all need emotional support. We wouldn’t question going to a doctor when we struggle physically, so why struggle with mental health on our own? Try it, if it’s not right for you I will be happy to help you find support that you may find better suited

19_edited.jpg
Is Everything I Say Confidential?

Counselling is confidential even if a third party is paying for it. There are certain limitations such as safeguarding and legal obligations. These will be discussed when we meet and clearly outlined in our contract.

17.png
How Long Does It Take To Work?

It is difficult to say how many sessions you may need and when you will ‘feel better’ as it depends on the individual. I offer long and short-term counselling, but there will be regular reviews where we can discuss how you are finding it. These sessions are about you so there is no pressure to continue or end.

17.png
What Counselling Do You Offer?

I am a fully qualified person-centred (PC) counsellor, which is a type of talking therapy that empowers clients to find their own solutions and develop self-awareness, self-esteem and self-acceptance. We often feel like we don’t have a choice in life, giving a sense of being out of control. PC counselling gives you autonomy, empowering you to control your own life and make your own choices. Sessions are tailored to the individual and an eclectic approach is taken, whereby elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and creative approaches may be utilised.
